Marou's single origin bars are named for six Vietnamese provinces with a different cocoa percentage for the bars from each region, from the Tiền Giang 70% up to the Bến Tre 78%. Each bar is beautifully wrapped for a full experience - from the receiving to the last bite!
Coconut Milk: Vietnam doesn’t have a large dairy tradition or history. But Vietnam does have a long history of coconut growing and harvesting, based around Ben Tre province. And so they decided to craft a coconut milk craft chocolate bar which out of the blocks won multiple international awards and became a firm favourite. Vegan, 55% cocoa.
Ginger & Lime: Ginger and Lime are pared beautifully with the fruity cacao from Ba Ria province. This chocolate bar is a gourmet blend of Vietnamese flavours : the bitterness of cacao, the spiciness of ginger and the sweet acidity of lime. All three ingredients are found in Ba Ria province. 69% cocoa.
Tien Giang Kumquat: Smooth dark chocolate infused with the tang of kumquats – the bright little citrus fruit that makes your mouth water. The kumquats in this bar grow in lush orchards in the Tien Giang province of Vietnam, close to where this fine cacao is harvested. The sweet and sour citrus flavours work in perfect harmony with the natural notes of fruit and spice in the chocolate. 68% cocoa.
Ben Tre 78%: This dark chocolate bar has been crafted in Vietnam using cocoa beans from the province of Ben Tre. The bar opens with a spicy aroma that leads to notes of nutmeg, cassia & peppercorns. A little sweetness mixes with mellow coconut.
Ba Ria 76%: This is the kind of chocolate that makes you look twice at the ingredients to see where the intensely fruity flavour is coming from. Of course, there are no added flavours, and the deep, red fruit notes in this chocolate come entirely from the south Vietnamese Trinitario cocoa beans.
